McDonald Street
This unique large family home, housing three adults and two dogs, was created through the conversion of an old church. The colours say it all; the clients, who were both creatives with a background in graphic design, wanted a home that could both showcase their art collection and provide personal spaces for them to pursue their passions.
The challenge was to avoid dividing up the original spaces of the church, but still create access to a new bedroom wing. The solution was constructing a recycled timber bridge with a new entrance that punched through to a floodlit study and bedrooms. A polished concrete and curved metal bathroom complement the rustic elements of the building
